i have the try hearing signia ax7 ric Li battery p in the 122/65 fitting range. i just can't seem to get them to program. i had the audi program them and she tested them for proper function. but i get what i call pinching in my ears. the left one sounds like i squeal and i even took the fitting program and set it to 20 across the board and i still go that. now i'm wondering if i have messed with the programming so much that it has left over programming in them that is not clearing, kind of like your pc when you change it around a few tiem and it starts misbehaving so bad that you just reformat it and reinstall the OS.

well i would like to reinstall a program that will reset them and start over. it seems to me if i put the audio gram to 20dc across the board that i may hear the low sound but i should not hear anything in the top sounds but i get rattles and squeaks in the left and it sound like they cutout on both when i get loud sounds. they should not be trying to do anything for loud sounds. i even did ucl and set that to the next step above my audiogram to see if that would keep that pinching squeaking vibrating what ever you want to call it out of them.

i even put the audiogram from my phonak aids in the connex program and i still get this. now i did not actually use target i used the phonak audiogram and the mcl and the ucl in connex. and the signia still do this. and get this i have the connex on 2 pcs with the exact audiogram setting and if i connect to one it changes the aids program if i do a reset in the fitting section of connex. the audio gram is the exact same and the so that is what happen to my ax5 when i had those setup and the audi connected to them. anyway i think if i can get some type of reset in them it may work better

so i would like to do a fresh reset and just start over. thanks

What power are your receivers? Is that what you mean by the "122/65 fitting range"?

Have you tried in-Situ measurements (in place of using your audiogram) to specify your hearing loss to the fitting software?

After the fitting software creates a new Rx/prescription for your hearing loss did you run the (feedback test/feedback suppression) tool?

It's feedback, not pinch if you want others to know what you are talking about. Feedback is (a squeal sound caused by a repetitive feedback loop between a microphone and speaker in close proximity). It can occur between any microphone and speaker, not just your hearing aid microphone and speaker.

it is not feedback i ran that lots of times. i did it with my hand over that ear with the ric out of my ear and tons of different ways. i even changed the aids from left to right and reprogrammed and the ric cables and also got new cables and it is still the same.

but answer me this pvc if you can. i'm leaning on the tv signia streamer causing this being it does this on both sets of aids. my phonak's do not do this but they are not blue tooth and it does not do it when i use the universal program. so to test that i set up a stroll program and made some crude fast adjustments and i was able to hear the tv better but my voice was way to loud and all the other sounds were to louds but it was just a test. and i did not get the noise or whatever it is. so i wonder if the streamer is causing this? i got it used a few years ago and that may be why it was for sale.

i have done in situ in just about every db range. and i even did that in the audiogram every db range. i did 20db straight across and the to 2k and 30 from 3k up and then moved the db up 5db at a time up to my audiogramand i got the same issue. i did learn how to stop the sound that sounds like it gets to high and they cut out for a nano second and then start back and that make a click bumping sound so i went into mpo and turned the 3k and up to 0 and that was gone for tv streaming. but no matter what db settings i go with i get the left ear with that noise but not in universal program, so that is why i'm starting to think the streamer is the issue. maybe i can ask signia to let me send it in for testing?

my receiver's are power ric units that 122/65 is the range signia shows for the ax5 and 122/63 for the ax7 aids and that is inside my loss range. besides the audi picked them so i would hope they are able to run my loss. and in the fitting program my loss fits inside the range of the aids with the power receivers installed. and i use the dome that signia calls tulip with 1 vent. and the first fit has been run with them installed, lots of times.

i saved the audi fitting so i have something to fall back on. but the fittings i get during all these tests seem to work in universal but in tv streaming is when i get all the issues.

tomorrow i'm going to look for a ear phone to rca cable and plug that into my tv and the streamer and take the streamer off the fibre cable and see if i still get that. it may be in the fiber part of the system? but thanks so far for the help. and maybe signia will help me a bit. if not i may get another streamer and see if it was the one i now use.

Typically Signia (or any manufacturer) talks/helps only professional audiologists who have opened accounts for buying hearing aid products.

Oh, the sound problems are only when using streaming after Bluetooth Pairing your HAs with TV Streamer.

Oticon has many adjustments you can make to the streaming sounds. I will take a looksee to determine if Signia Connexx has adjustments for streaming.

here's the oticon version below (the image adjustments are for Phone but the same applies to TV Adapter);

thanks PVC. i may go back to phonak for the next time i need hearing aids. we are getting a costco in our town soon maybe what they sell is better than signia. anyway i'm leaning on the tv streamer because i do not have this issue when they are in universal mode. and like i said last night i set up a stroll program and i did not have it with that one either but the settings were terrible, but i just did a fast setup to see if i could hear the tv a bit better without i guess it might sound like someone scratching the chalkboard only in one ear and only in streaming mode. also because it does this with both signia hearing aids that makes me now look to the streamer. i never gave that a though until last night when i turned off the right ear streaming all the way down to -16 on all channels and still got it.

if i happen to come across another signia streamer i may give that a try. and today i found a adapter that will plug into the tv ear phone jack but i have to do that when no one want to watch tv because it turns off the speakers. but i can then plug that into the streamer rca jacks and see if i still get this. if not then that tells me the fiber channel is causing the issue.

anyway thanks

PVC do you happen to know if the phonak v30 312 xp aids have the ability to transmit like the signia aids do? they have streaming for mic and audio so maybe they can stream like the signia. is so i will look for a audio streamer for those and just go back to them.

do you happen to know if the phonak v30 312 xp aids have the ability to transmit like the signia aids do?
Phonak Audéo V (circa 2014-Q4) is old school (about a decade old) and has primitive streaming technology using two devices in combination. Here's some documentation links;
I believe you would need to use the TVLink II device along with one of the following streamers;
  • ComPilot
  • ComPilot II
  • ComPilot Air II

Signia Streaming should be as good as other brands. For your Signia streaming, are you using this Signia Streamline TV device? Or something else?

i have the device your showing. tomorrow i'm going try the headphone jack and some rca cables on this streamer and see if i still get that scratching sound. it is possible it is just in the fibre section of the streamer or maybe in the fibre on the tv so if the headphone plug and the rca patch cable work on the streamer and the noise goes away then that will prove out the streamer is the root cause.

also if i have to use 2 devices and get away from that sound in the left side will be much better than having that in my ear all day long. i'm going to look for someone in my neighborhood to see if they have the same streamer and if so either have them connect to my streamer or connect to theres and see if they hear it on my streamer or i hear clear on there streamer.

Listen to theirs; It is easy to pair;
Fully automatic pairing - pair StreamLine TV with your hearing aids in three easy steps:
  1. Turn on StreamLine TV.
  2. Switch the hearing aids off and on.
  3. Place both hearing aids on the StreamLine TV.

also if i have to use 2 devices and get away from that sound in the left side will be much better than having that in my ear all day long.
This technology is too old. It's not even Bluetooth. The thing you wear around your neck (I believe) uses magnetic Loop technology, therefore you must always wear it around your neck for streaming to work. The built-in battery inside the streamer is likely dead and not replaceable. This stuff is too old. Don't waste your time on this.

PVC about 95% success so far using the RCA ports on the tv and the signia streamer not perfect, but i think i can program that out. i will let you know soon if i manage to program it out. thanks

That's great news! When you buy a Toslink cable (as new) it comes with covers on the end. Meaning it must be kept clean! Maybe your Toslink cable was dirty. A couple of comments/clips below from a→ discussion forum. I believe they have glass-or-plastic tips that can be carefully cleaned.

Re: TOSLINK optical input cleaning necessary?

It is not rocket science, clean it with a mild water damped microfiber cloth, thats all ...
If there are only dust, blow it away with a camera lens hand blower

Re: TOSLINK optical input cleaning necessary?

Jo...
Of Course this is Rocket Science!

I've had some of the World's cheapest TOS cables for a very long time, and have never encountered a cleaning emergency. Primarily I believe because I don't stir my Coffee with them, nor allow the Grandchildren to chew on them. As a result, they stay remarkably clean all by themselves!
Should it REALLY be necessary to remove Crud from a mis-handled TOS connection, a Micro-Fiber cloth from any Eye-Wear retailer is perfect! I avoid Solvents of any sort, and as Window Cleaners often contain Ammonia (which damages Plastics) I suggest that one not go there!

PVC i did try to clean them i even cleaned inside the receiver port on the streamer and that did not help. the cable was new with the tips that i used. the original i used on a different device but i did try that new cable on the other device and did not have issues. so i'm leaning on this having internal issues. it is possible the receiver is scratched from previous owners. i may sorce a new one from signia. by the way they did return my first email but did not return the one asking for the tv streamer people. so you're correct on that point. but my audi may be able to get an answer and might be able to send it in for repair. i will ask her. thanks

All manufacturers are switching to replace instead of repair, and this includes replacing hearing aids when the rechargeable Li-ion batteries get depleted. But guess what, they are not going to service used hearing aids. Only new hearing aids purchased from authorized dealers.
