Hi all,I want to purchase widex pro link device,Does anyone know about it.Is it for legacy Hearing aids or for Newer (Bluetooth)pro-link-without-docking-station-1000-1000.pngHearing aids

Here's a clip from a DIY School Hearing Aids PDF File named (Choose Hardware-Programming Device for Widex). As you can see from the Legend; models marked as PRO can use the Widex PRO LINK.

Interestingly though, one of the new models (CIC Micro) is too small for including a wireless radio. So if you insist on using the the Widex PRO LINK for this model you will need to add an addon connector and the addon connector uses a battery for Pete's sake. Here's a clip from a DIY School Hearing Aids PDF File named (Fitting Instructions Widex Compass GPS);

problem: the micro USB Prolink is not recognized by Widex Compass 4.8; the connection to Remote Care is ok. Compass is installed on a Win11 Lenovo notebook. I reinstalled the
"USBLink driver": same result. What can I do?

Remote care is for your Audiologist to start a remote fitting session for you. Your participation in the remote-care fitting session would involve connecting with your audiologist via a cell phone app, and then receive the fitting changes from your audiologist. When your audiologist is performing a remote fitting session, you don't need any hearing aid fitting software, and you don't need a hearing aid programming device like Widex PRO LINK. The remote changes are applied to your hearing aids by the cellphone App.

Have you Selected PRO LINK from the Compass GPS list of Available Interfaces and moved it to the Compass GPS list of Current Interfaces? here's a clip from DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (Fitting Instructions Widex Compass GPS);

To setup a specific wireless programming device run Compass GPS and then;
  • #1 Click Compass setup
  • #2 Click Interface
  • #3 Select your wireless programming device in Available Interfaces
  • #4 Click the Add button to add your device to Current Interfaces
  • #5 Your device is added to Current Interfaces
  • #6 Click Connect
Optionally (if you have multiple Current Interfaces) you can use the Pulldown selection next to the Connect button (#6) and select any other wireless programming devices you want to use.

Whoops; I meant clip from DIY School Legacy Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (Fitting Instructions Widex Compass GPS);

The example above shows exactly what I have done; but I use the ProLink with Micro USB cable; trying to test or connect Compass says no connection to ProLink possible. I tried another Micro USB cable: same result. Do I need another USB driver for Windows 11? What I am doing wrong?

Find your PROLINK device in Windows and check the status and driver;
  • Start/Control Panel/Device Manager

USBLink is an old hearing aid programming device that uses legacy magnetic loop technology for data transmission. Don't use that, unless you have to.

Well, I do not find a PROLINK device in Device Manager. By the way, I am working with driver packages (Google, Sony) in order to manipulate Android mobiles. May be they are not compatible with Prolink? Is a standalone driver for Prolink available?

I don't know what you are trying to accomplish with these driver packages??

Well there's a BIG CLUE!!

Why are you using PRO LINK in the first place? Noahlink Wireless or (Noahlink Wireless 2) is usually used because it is the Industry Standard.

Whichever device you use needs to be recognized by your MS Windows OS/Operation System;

Repeat in case you need to Translate to another language;

WIDEX PRO LINK SET-UP Get started with your PRO LINK by following these easy steps:

#1 Verify you have installed the latest Compass-`" GPS software by going to www.widexPRO.com or selecting the GPS Auto Updater in the bottom right corner of your computer screen.

#2 Fully charge your PRO LINK before connecting it to the computer.
Connect the docking station to a power outlet and place the PRO LINK fitting device on the docking station.
The green light on the fitting device will flash green while charging and will turn solid green when fully charged.

#3 Plug the Bluetooth adaptor into a USB port on your computer.
The light will be red until you turn on your PRO LINK.

#4 Turn on your PRO LINK by pressing the center button. The PRO LINK is pre-paired to the Bluetooth adaptor so no pairing is necessary.
Open Compass GPS and go to Session Start — Compass Setup —Interface and add the "PRO LINK with Bluetooth adaptor" and "PRO LINK with Micro USB cable" to the Current Interfaces list.

You'll need to fully charge the Pro link and long press the silver button on it to turn it on.

Sorry! my own fault my own mistake. I did not realize that I need the Bluetooth adaptor. I really beleaved using the" PRO LINK with Micro USB cable" will be enough. I do not have such an adaptor: so I have to be satisfied using the remote care app. Thank you for your efforts to help me!

You cannot use the remote care app. The remote care requires a professional account for using the cloud-based function of transferring changes to your hearing aids via an app. The design is such that only your Audiologist (with a professional account) can use it.

Your path forward requires a complete Widex PRO Link including the necessary Bluetooth adaptor; or the industry-standard (Noahlink Wireless or Noahlink Wireless 2) which can be used without a Bluetooth adapter because it connects to your PC via USB cable. Though, the (Noahlink Wireless/Noahlink Wireless 2) option only works for the newest Widex models (Widex Moment and later).

Seen in Ebay: Is this device compatible with Compass software and Widex Evoke?

Don't but NOAHlink. See this forum topic named → EBay Scam!! - Noahlink Wireless Bluetooth 01NYCA1118 Aid Make Offers!
Noahlink Wireless 2. This is your Huckleberry; Though you can still use the slightly older version (Noahlink Wireless);
