Oticon Genie2 - software download?

Hello! I have an Oticon Intent 1 on trial and I would like to see how it can be customized through Genie 2 before purchasing it definitively. Can you help me with the application? Thanks in advance!

Hi @Catalin Welcome;
Please read your PM/Conversation for info on how to find Oticon Genie2 2024.2

I see that you have a lot of information. The audiologist did my audiometry on 11 frequencies and I know that Oticon Intent 1 can be set on 24 frequencies. Should I do another audiometry on the 24 frequencies, to benefit from the performance of the device, or is there not a big difference? Thanks in advance!

No, don't worry about measuring your hearing loss for a large-or-very large number of frequencies. PTA/Pure Tone Audiometry testing doesn't use that much granularity. Also each frequency is related to its neighboring frequency in a curve. So the curve stays pretty much the same whether you show many frequencies or show fewer frequencies. Here's is my Audiogram which is linked in the Signature on each of my forum posts when you are logged on.

The Audiogram number of frequencies tested is different from the number of fitting handles shown inside the fitting software. Typically a large number of frequencies shown in the fitting software is related to geographical region of the world. Certain regions/countries got accustomed to viewing a large number of fitting handles (at the same time that manufacturers were bragging on the high number of fitting handles) so the practice of providing a large number of fitting handles still persist in some geographical regions.

Tip: You can change the number of frequencies viewed in most fitting software. And if you want to see the difference for geographical regions, then install the software as a different region, try China!! ;)

I have a pair of Intent aids and would like to update their firmware. Am I under correct assumption I need Genie 2?

Thanks,
Corey

Yes Genie 2; Please read your PM/Conversation for info on how to find Oticon Genie2 2024.2

Careful, don't walk away from your wireless connection (with your hearing aids in your ears) during a firmware update.
That could brick your hearing aids because firmware updates are destructive.

Genie 2 software for Oticon engage
Hi @steveh2010 Welcome; Please read your PM/Conversation for info on how to find Oticon Genie2 2024.2.

However, please read a DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (Unlocking ReBranded Hearing Aids) because the NHS Oticon Engage is equivalent to Oticon Opn 2 hearing aids and requires a special Genie 2 unlock code.

The DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) access portals are at your finger tips via 24/7 cloud storage access.
  • Start here → DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) to find the access portals
  • You can easily find the Access Portals again/anytime, by clicking any PVC Avatar (click twice - counting the 2nd popup Avatar)
  • When logged in, you can find the Access Portals again/anytime, by clicking a Link in my Signature
  • And finally, you can perform a simple Internet search for "DIY School Hearing Aids"

Greetings, I have read the DIY school and have a noahlink wireless on a windows laptop. Looking for Oticon Genie2 currently if anyone has a link to share. Thank you!
