FOR SALE Pair of Oticon OPN 1 miniRITE / Beige Color / Top Level / Excellent condition

I would agree with you that it's probably the custom molds on your More 2 that are probably letting you hear a little more low sounds. This sounds like great justification to buy more sodas or start opening up the beer for the experiment! ;)

FOR SALE Pair of Oticon OPN 1 miniRITE / Beige Color / Top Level / Excellent condition

Do share with us your impression of the More 2 compared to the OPN 1 once you've had a chance to wear it to enough places, @pvc .

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

I thought that figures 6, 8 and 9 give you quantitative data, no?

Yikes - My Local VA Oticon Rechargeable Battery Replacement requires Factory Repair

That's interesting to know. This must be a VA (or local VA) thing because Oticon has openly advertised that battery replacement can be done at the HCP's office.

    Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Maintenance

Thanks for sharing this. I wonder if this is THE warranty criteria before Oticon would be willing to replace the battery under warranty or not? Obviously they're not making this feature available to the users themselves via the ON app and only the HCP with access to Genie 2 can find this out.

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

By the way, I saw some other folks (not this bike riding person) who also reported that the Real seems to perform better than the More in speech in noise situations for them. I wonder if because there usually are more sudden noise conditions in noisy environments, that the new sudden noise...

    Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Maintenance

Great write-up as always, @pvc ! I appreciate you pulling it out from the DIY School v2.1 PDF file into a thread for more attention and discussion. I'd like to add just a couple of small items to this. If you have a rechargeable pair of hearing aids and the batteries can be removed with a...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

Thanks for the update, @SpudGunner . I heard from a bicycle enthusiast who upgraded from his More 1 to his Real 1 mainly because of the wind handling feature while he rides his bicycle. About 3 months into the Real 1 now, he reported that he doesn't notice much difference in speech in noise...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

For sure it's better to have a disposable battery hearing aids setup as spare, and the rechargeable setup for everyday use, because as you can see, Lithium-ion based systems are meant to be used, so you don't have to worry about keeping them at a "happy" state in storage. Unfortunately your...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

Luckily I think you also have the Smart Charger as well, right? So if you take the Smart Charger along, just a 30 minute top off will restore 25% of your battery charge. Whether you have a Smart Charger or the regular charger, you'd have to bring a charger with anyway though. The only...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

Oh, I didn't realize that there was a page 4 for this thread which contains all these posts already so I redundantly went ahead and replied with my own post. I'm not used to seeking out for new pages in this forum yet, I guess, because the other forum is just a string of posts from beginning to...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

I think for the rechargeable hearing aids themselves, the key is to make sure that they're at 50% state of charge then turn the hearing aids off. Lithium-ion batteries are in the happiest state at 50% for long term storage. Initially, maybe in a week time, I'd turn them on again and check to...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

How are you enjoying the Real 2 by the way? Have you had a chance to do some more A/B between the More 1 and Real 2 on the fly? Like with listening to or playing music maybe? It is pretty interesting to hear that the Real 2 is performing better than the More 1 outside of the 2 new features...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

Thanks for sharing this, @SpudGunner. At least you can take comfort that you're not the only user seeing this. I really do think that it's because the voltage curve for the Zinc-Air battery is so flat that most of the times it would just show 100% then it abruptly gives you a low battery...

Yeah, if you click on the screenshot to blow it up, that orange line looks like is for the Duracell.

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

I think this goes back to what @e1405 was saying about the inability of the battery level estimator on the hearing aid to make it accurate enough, especially in the first few days of usage. It simply measures the voltage level of the battery and tried to convert that into remaining charge...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

See, this is not what you said before, per my post just above. Now you're saying an entirely different thing, that your left aid showed 100% with a battery, and when you put the old battery (from the right aid?) which you know was shown by the right aid to have only 10% into the left aid, the...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

The way I read your bold part above, you said that the left aid showed 100% on the left battery, and the right aid showed the correct (lower level) for the right battery. Then when you swapped the batteries from left to right, now the right aid shows 100% with the battery that was on the left...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

Yes, I wrote the question with the disposable battery in mind. That's why I said battery cycle, not charge cycle. What I'm thinking is that if one of the disposable batteries has some kind of anomaly that gives it a slightly higher voltage than normal, then that's why the aid that contains the...

Are the Oticon More aids that much better than the OPN aids?

How many battery cycles have you gone through so far? If more than 1 cycle, then that battery that shows 100% in the ON app, has it quit on you yet? If that battery already quit on you but is still showing 100% on either of the aids, then there's some kind of anomaly with that battery. If...
