Which Phonak CROS device should I buy?

Hi everyone. I have single-sided deafness. My left ear doesn’t hear at all, but my right ear hears at a normal level. I needed a device that transfers sound from the left to the right ear, and based on my own research, I found the Phonak CROS system.

I went to a hearing center and they gave me a model to test. I believe the model is called Lumity CROS.

However, it’s not quite what I’m looking for, and I don’t think it’s the latest model either. Instead, I’m considering getting the CROS Infinio. I haven’t told the seller yet because I’m still testing the one I have. I’m quite confused. The information on Phonak’s website is also a bit overwhelming.

For example, I read that the CROS Infinio isn’t compatible with the Sphere Infinio model, so the AI features can’t be used. Instead, it’s compatible with Audeo Infinio R. Why is that?

I want to buy the most recent and most advanced CROS device available. That’s why I need advice from someone more knowledgeable than me. These devices are not cheap, so I need to think carefully.

Honestly, since I can already hear quite well on one side, the current device didn’t make much of a difference for me — but I think the Infinio model might be better.

I’ll be using the device while working at a desk job and making lots of phone calls.

Device model which i am currently use:

Left: Cros L-R
Right: Audeo L30-R

Wow, that's a difficult question. CROS fittings are special purpose only. They simply take the sound from the deaf side and send it to the side where you can hear. I am assuming the purpose of CROS is so that you don't miss any important speech or sound-ques.

Be careful of technology that you wish for, because it may not be compatible with the basic function of CROS.

Well if you read about how the new (AI-Artificial Intelligence/DNN Deep Neural Network) hearing aid noise-reduction technology works (you can read some → Here) I think you will see that the AI-DNN's major feature (reducing noise for Speech-In-Noise situations) functions by focusing on the soundscape in a forward direction (in front of you, - as detected by two forward facing microphones on your hearing aids) and when speech in noise is detected the noise reduction features are applied AND your two forward facing microphones are given priority.

imo> All that whiz-bang noise reduction and (direction-beaming or whatever you call that forward focus) can't possibly be (compatible/normal/good) when used in addition to CROS (sending ALL the sound from the bad side to the good side).
