I'm trying to find out if I need "pills" cables to program the Widex moment CIC (not CIC-Micro) or just a USB link.
The help in the compass is confusing.
And if "pils" cables are needed, where to get them? Because according to the instructions manual on the "PRo Link Connector" that they plug into, they are not included.
I'm planning on buying new hearing aids and am deciding between the Phonak Virto P and Moment 330 CIC models
Is there anyone who has experience with CIC Widex models?
In 2020, beginning with the Widex Moment platform, (which also appears to be the final Widex platform) all fitting connections were switched to wireless fitting. But guess what? One of their MICRO hearing aid models, the (MOMENT CIC MICRO 10/M-CIC-M) was too small to include a wireless radio hardware component in the tiny CIC Micro hearing aid. So they added a Wired connector to fit atop the (wireless-only PRO LINK), and don't forget (there's a battery inside that Wired connector). But this is only for the one model (MOMENT CIC MICRO 10/M-CIC-M).
Clips follow from DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File (Big-5 Platforms Chips);
The reasons for me saying "final platform" is because Widex Sheer is not new. It's the same as Moment, and SMARTRIC appears to be a bent/recased (Signia Styletto) from the company that Widex has merged into, Signia. However, this is just my opinion.
USB link uses magnetic loops/coils (one in the hearing aid and one in the USB link) to facilitate wireless connectivity. The two loops require close proximity to each other
Noahlink Wireless and PRO LINK both use a more modern form of Bluetooth wireless connectivity
So all of the hearing aid models listed above can be fit wirelessly with the exception of that MICRO model. However, not all models can use Noahlink Wireless. I suspect that is because only the newest models have a Bluetooth/BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) wireless radio component.
