Hello,

I'm a musician and my hearing care professional is not able to configure the Widex Moment so that I can hear well. However, they lent me some Widex Evoke which are supposed to be an older version and I could hear better, I'm quite desperate because I don't understand what's going on.

I've also read that it could be the protocols and that changing it to NAL-NL2 could improve it, but I don't know.

I hear a lot of noises if for example something falls on the floor, voices sound metallic to me, there is a whisper at the end of each word, sometimes sounds suddenly cut off or I notice changes depending on where I am...

I can't hear well with the baseline configuration, or with the settings.

Anyone with the same problem?

First, let's start with the error you get when installing (Widex Compass GPS 4.8) on your computer.

ERROR: "The wizard has been interrupted before completing the installation of COMPASS GPS. Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation at another time, run it again."
  • Do you get any other messages before you get this "wizard has been interrupted" message?
  • Does your computer match the requirements for Compass GPS printed below?

Solved! The problem was that it had Spanish as the default language, I had to change it to English and it installed without any problem. Thanks!

Is anyone having so many problems adapting to Widex Moment?

I don't know either. We don't know anything about your hearing loss! I suspect that your hearing loss is much worse than a typical age related ski-slope moderate hearing loss. As an example, my hearing loss/Audiogram is linked in my Signature below and you can view it by clicking that Link. Here's an image that describes different hearing losses (mild, moderate, severe, profound);

Meanwhile here's a link with discussion about → WIDEX Fitting Rationales.

Hearing losses are different and some (typically severe/profound) are very difficult to fit.

Fitting for speech and fitting for music require different methods. Some have the default setting for understanding human speech, and then add an additional program for music. The special music program would avoid noise reduction, wind-block, and other settings that might affect music.
