Hello,I own a Phonak Virto V50 CIC hearing aid, which uses size 10 batteries. Recently, my right hearing aid malfunctioned due to a damaged speaker. It was replaced, and the device was sent back to me. However, I discovered that my hearing aids no longer work together as they used to. For instance, when adjusting the volume, it would automatically apply to both hearing aids, as would switching programs or using the phone. Additionally, wireless programming using the iCube 2 no longer works for the repaired device; only programming via HiPro 2 is possible. It is likely, or even certain, that the wireless coil was removed from the right hearing aid.
I have a significant issue with this. Adjusting the volume is crucial for me as I attend lectures and events where I am seated far from the speaker, making it hard to hear clearly. Unfortunately, the current setup only allows volume adjustments for the right ear, as the program assumes the devices are paired and synchronized. It doesn’t allow separate volume adjustments for the left ear. The only available options seem to be changing programs or lowering the volume, as they are designed to work in sync from the factory settings.
Does anyone know how to set up independent volume control for the left hearing aid, or if there’s an alternative method to adjust the volume without using the program?Thank you

Here's a clip from a DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (02 How to Program your Hearing Aids) from section;

Self Programming Don’ts:

Don't program only one hearing aid of a pair. Wireless Hearing Aids/HAs (which is almost all modern HAs) are automatically matched/paired together during a fitting session using the manufacturer's fitting software. This is not the same as standard Bluetooth pairing for streaming audio which can be un-paired and re-paired to various Bluetooth devices. Instead, this pairing is designed to allow your left/right HAs to communicate only with each other and not mistakenly communicate with other nearby HAs. This facilitates binaural features such as pressing a button on one HA to change volume in both HAs plus many other binaural features, such as binaural automatic speech-in-noise adjustments when you walk into a crowded restaurant. If you inadvertently program only one hearing aid of a pair (maybe because of factory repair, or perhaps one HA was lost) then the binaural communication will be disabled. Thereafter, the binaural communication can only be restored by reprogramming both HAs together as a pair using the manufacturer's fitting software. Tip: It may be necessary to start the fitting session using the settings from the database because a repaired/replaced HA may not have your previous settings.
