oticon programs

Yep; It depends on which hearing aid model you have. One normal way for a single-action button is a long-button-press (count-one-one-thousand) on one hearing aid will switch programs up-or-down and a long-button-press on the opposite hearing aid button will also change programs, but in the opposite direction.

With double-action buttons, a typical setup is that one hearing aid left or right will be designated as the programming button and a short-button-press on the up button or down button on the same hearing aid will switch programs. It can also be done via remote control, or an App.

Sorry about that,You are right. What I wonder is two things.
Are the programs only able to be changed only by your practioner?
And is it possible to change by them by your self?
I am new to hearing aids, just got mine yesterday, so I really
don't know much about them and I know I have a lot to
learn.

Well again, you should say what Brand(oh, Oticon)/and models, Look at all the various ways to setup Oticon double-action (up/down) buttons on Oticon More; Your Audi can set these up. You can also set these up if you start DIY Self Programming.

ETA: Edit To Add: You can edit/save to erase those extra quote mistakes above ;)

Are the programs always there,or do they have to be made and
put into your hearing aid?

The programs are Added, for example (Speech in Noise, Music).

In the above setup for Mores; each hearing aid has a dual action button, (Up and Down).

This setup uses only short button press.
Program Change Up = Right hearing Up button (controls both hearing aids)
Program Change Down = Right hearing Down button (controls both hearing aids)

Volume Control Up = Left hearing Up button (controls both hearing aids)
Volume Control Down = Left hearing Down button (controls both hearing aids)

Suggestion for satisfying your curiosity:
  • Download and Install the Oticon Fitting software (Oticon Genie2 2023.2)
  • Create a Dummy client (Joe Blow, Male, Birthday 1/1/1950)
  • Select client Joe Blow
  • Simulate a fitting session and poke around without connecting any hearing aids
