I stumbled across this while researching something else. Now I want to try Oticon's new OtoTherm Molds!!
I am currently wearing Oticon hard acrylic molds and I would not dare call them comfortable.
See page 23 of this Link to → Oticon Intent Product Guide.

OtoTherm characteristics:
– Based on an ear impression
– Made of thermoplastic material
– Remains hard at room temperature for easy insertion
– Softens at body temperature for increased comfort and optimal sealing
– Available in shore 70 hardness

Please note: OtoTherm earpieces require gentle warming using a hair dryer with a maximum power output of 1400 W before insertion or removal of the receiver. But this would only be required once initially, or when replacing a failed receiver or other rare event.

I have the OtoTherm Molds ordered using my last impression. The VA/Veterans Administration is good at providing things like this. I will comment later (in-a-week-or-two) after I receive-and-wear these for a while.

I picked up my new Oto Therm Molds today (ordered using my last impression). Wow, they are great!! I got instant relief from that mild pain sensation from my previous hard acrylic molds. At the end of the day with my previous hard acrylic molds, I felt like I had a hard pellet in each ear. That's gone. It has only been a few hours with these new (Oto Therm Molds) but I can already tell, there will be no pain after long hours of wear.

100% Thumbs Up!! ETA/Edit To Add: Near end of day; everything is still comfortable. btw> These Oto Therm molds, and also, the previous hard acrylic molds can be separated from the receivers. So you don't have to sacrifice the receivers when switching molds for this Intent model. You can just re-use the old receivers. Though, you may need to use tools to eject the tight fitting receivers; See this → Link to How to eject/remove the Oticon Legacy receiver from an Oticon Legacy Mold.
