Hi
My first post on here! I am ready to buy a hardware device for programming my NHS aids but am not sure which Noahlink to get. If the Noahlink Wireless 2 is compatible that's what I will order.
I have installed Target software using the installation key needed for my aids and am reading everything about programming. Thanks in advance for any help and thanks to all forum members who have helped me get this far.

Here's a clip from a DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (Noahlink Wireless 2 - DIY User Guide);

Noahlink Wireless 2 uses a modern USB-C connector cable and, provides support for Bluetooth Low Energy/BLE 5.3 (vs older BLE 4.2) for the older Noahlink Wireless device.

As-of 2024-Q3 Noahlink Wireless 2 devices are becoming readily available and easily purchased. DIYers should try to find a good price for the newer Noahlink Wireless 2 or alternatively, a dirt cheap price for the older Noahlink Wireless.

Currently (as-of 2024-Q3) the China price for either device seems to be in the $130/$140-USD range, and I have not yet seen any significant price drop for the older Noahlink Wireless devices, so you should opt for the newer Noahlink Wireless 2 at the current price range.

Note of caution: There is still no Apple ARM driver available for Noahlink Wireless (and also for Noahlink Wireless 2) so this still cannot be used for newer ARM technology (Apple silicon) based computers (even under emulation).

Some don't like me harping about this name thingamajig issue. But it's in the title of this topic! (which you have edit ability to change) ;)

Avoid Name Confusion; Noahlink Wireless – Noah - NOAHlink
  • The correct name is Noahlink Wireless or Noahlink Wireless 2.
  • Noah ( currently Noah 4 or Noah-ES) is database software that professional audiologists use to group many clients that use various brands of fitting software into a single Noah database. As self-fitters, we don’t need all this overhead. Instead we run the fitting software standalone with the standalone database included in the fitting software. Self-fitters don’t need the cumbersome multiple-fitting-software capability. We also don’t need to organize thousands of clients into a single Noah database so that we can boost sales by sending each client a combination Happy Birthday greeting/sales pitch.
  • NOAHlink is an old/almost obsolete programming device. See image of round device with a bite out of the top sitting in a charger below. It is a wired programming device that uses cables similar to a Hi Pro/wired programming device. It can also work wirelessly with an addon nEARcom device which has a wireless hook that snaps onto the top of NOAHlink and is worn around your neck. But that wireless-hook setup is ridiculous! Please don’t mistakenly buy the almost obsolete NOAHlink programming device because of name confusion.

Thanks PVC. I've edited the thread title, purchased a Noahlink Wireless 2 on Amazon and have read the relevant documents from DIY School HA. Just waiting for the Amazon van to arrive and then I'll be all set.
