Just got an Intent and my audiologist I've been using is retiring and there isn't a convenient audiologist in my area anymore. I either have to wait weeks to get in to one that comes close by or travel 1.5 hours away to see one. So, I'd like to start DIY programming my hearing aid. I got the software but I need to know if a Noahlink wireless 2 is required for the intent or if I can use the Noahlink wireless.

Yes, Noahlink Wireless 2 is required. Here's why I recommend Noahlink Wireless 2 instead of the older Noahlink Wireless. We are not seeing any dirt-cheap frices for the older Noahlink Wireless.

Clip from a DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (Noahlink Wireless 2 – DIY User Guide);
Noahlink Wireless 2 uses a modern USB-C connector cable and, provides support for Bluetooth Low Energy/BLE 5.3 (vs older BLE 4.2) for the older Noahlink Wireless device on EBay or AliExpress.

As-of 2024-Q3 Noahlink Wireless 2 devices are becoming readily available and easily purchased. DIYers should try to find a good price for the newer Noahlink Wireless 2 or alternatively, a dirt cheap price for the older Noahlink Wireless.

Also; the DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) access portals are at your finger tips via 24/7 cloud storage access.
  • Start here → DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) to find the access portals
  • You can easily find the Access Portals again/anytime, by clicking any PVC Avatar (click twice - counting the 2nd popup Avatar)
  • When logged in, you can find the Access Portals again/anytime, by clicking a Link in my Signature
  • And finally, you can perform a simple Internet search for "DIY School Hearing Aids"

But if you already have the older Noahlink Wireless, then go ahead and use it. I do. Sorry, I didn't understand the original question. Yes a hearing aid programming device is required;
  • Noahlink Wireless 2 recommended
  • Noahlink Wireless will also work
