I was using Genie2 to do an in-situ fitting for my new Oticon Intents. After I finished the fitting and the hearing aids are working with the new profile,, I had to go off to help my wife with something. I forgot that I still have the hearing aids in my ears. When I came back, the connection through the Noah Link Wireless was lost. Reconnecting failed repeatedly. I tried to hold the button on the hearing aids to power cycle it and it will not respond at all. I placed them back into the charger and they still will not turn off. Now I have no way to connect them back to Genie2. Please help.

To recap; You completed the in-Situ measurements for each frequency and for each ear; But had not yet completed the fitting session by saving the in-Situ changes to a new session in your client database.

HMm; It seems like you are stuck in the middle. I have heard of hearing aids getting bricked by walking away from a wireless firmware update with the hearing aids still in your ears. Firmware updates should be performed with the hearing aids out of your ears, and sitting next to the Noahlink Wireless in order to prevent walking away accidents.

I believe the only thing you can do at this point is to wait for the batteries to drain. When that happens the hearing aids typically shut themselves off. Maybe you can recover after that?

btw> Nice Audiogram picture that you have linked in your Signature!!

Hopefully, you can recover after the batteries drain. Unlike firmware updates that replace the hearing aid firmware/brains, your hearing aid firmware is still intact. That should give us hope for a recovery.

I went to bed and left the hearing aids in the charger. This morning when I took them out, they turned on normally. So it must have turned off eventually and looks like it is back to normal, except I have not finished the setup and only have P1, no P2-P4. I'll try programming it again when I get a chance. Know better not to run away from the Noahlink next time.

btw> I think my audiogram has changed quite a bit over time. Here is the new audiogram from my new in-situ test with the new Intents. How do I transfer this to the Audiogram chart? It s staying at flat zero right now. Or is it not necessary? It has unusual rise at 6K both sides and 1K on the left. At 125Hz, I am worse than the 48db, but it will not get more amplification than that.

I have trouble with music. Playing notes on the piano sounds out of tune to me. I did not enable compression at the high end. So it is my hearing, not the hearing aids transposing the sound frequency. Old familiar songs sound off to me. I was a violin and guitar player. But now music sounds horrible to me.

Next time, you could try "rebooting" them. Press and hold the rocket button for about 45 seconds until they power off and restart. By the way, do you know which firmware version they’re on? Version 1.1.0 fixed some connection issues I was experiencing with Genie 2.

Thanks e1405. I did not know about the 45 second feature.

I am on version 1.1.0 firmware.

I didn't know about a 45 second reboot feature either. Next time I brick my hearing aids I will try it :eek:
When I Mouse-Hover over my selected hearing aid, I show firmware 1.1.0 and Genie 2 firmware updater doesn't provide any later version;
