I've worn The Bose/Lexie B2 OTC for about 3 years now. They work well except in noisey environments since there's zero noise filter.

I came here while researching my options since one of my HA's isn't holding a charge anymore. I figured it's time to get my first big-boy set. I've got mild to moderate loss primarily in mid to high range. It makes understanding speech difficult to seriously problematic.

Found these forums while researching the possibility of DIY with the Costco HA's. I've found it to be a big help in my research. My Rexton Reach are due to be fitted this coming Friday. I have to admit I'm kinda stoked to get something with a noise reduction program. Understanding any speech in a restaurant or anywhere else with a lot of generic background noise is impossible for me.

Recently, new technology has become available for reducing noise for (Speech-In-Noise situations) and is available in recent hearing aid models from 4 of the five (Big-5) manufacturers. The Rexton Reach model is not one of these new models that feature this new technology dubbed (AI-Artificial Intelligence/DNN Deep Neural Network).

You can read about how the new hearing aid noise-reduction technology works → Here. Though, these new AI/DNN models will be priced way higher than the Rexton Reach model from Costco. Probably more than double. So there's that.

Just thought you should now that speech-in-noise technology has moved past forward-focusing the hearing aid microphones, to use AI with DNN to clean-up the sound by lowering the noise by several decibels. This is in addition to forward-focusing the hearing aid microphones.

Does (AI-Artificial Intelligence/DNN Deep Neural Network) work. Yep, it works well. I am wearing it with the Oticon Intents below. Will the previous models with only forward-focus work for you? I don't know? I can't even see your (audiogram/hearing loss) like you can see mine which is linked in my signature line below. Maybe, when you get the Reach models, you should try them out in a noisy restaurant.

Sorry, I don't wish to rain on your parade. Chances are (coming from OTC) you may be thrilled with Rexton Reach. Just keep in mind this next option for dealing with speech-in-noise.
