I recently bought a pair of hearing aid from a UK high street retailer.
After a few emails I was provided with an invoice and was surprised at what I saw.
The invoice showed two separate VAT rates. One was a 20% rate for goods ( the hearing aids) and one was zero rated for services ( the dispensing charge). I round numbers the hearing aids cost £700 and the dispensing charge was £1300.
