Demo hearing aids

Could anyone tell me what is the difference between this model and the normal retail model?
 
There was (or is) a need for Audi's to allow clients to test-drive a pair of hearing aids/HAs for a longer period of time than one short office visit.

Though, once a client takes the HAs home for a test-drive, those HAs are no longer new, and can't be sold as new, to anyone except the original client. If the original client returns the HAs, they would typically be sent back to the factory, where I believe they are destroyed! The factory doesn't refurbish them!

Ah, but if the manufacturer prints DEMO on the HAs, then the Audi can just "sanitize" the HAs upon return, and reuse those same DEMO HAs for multiple client test-drives.

TRIAL hearing aids are similar, though these have annoying beeps (after 6-weeks or so) which can be reset (by you or your Audi) for a new 6-week trial period using the hearing aid fitting software, and maybe the TRIAL hearing aids are/were? only for some Unitron hearing aid models?

So if you have become the proud owner of a pair of DEMO HAs, consider the possibility they may have fallen off the back of a delivery truck.

No difference in functionality that I (know of/heard of). I think they are identical to non-DEMO models.
