I am experiencing difficulty hearing clear conversations during phone calls on my Philips 9050. The incoming call audio sounds muffled and lacks high tones. I am curious if anyone else has encountered this issue. My smartphone settings are listed below:

I regret that I omitted the information that my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. The issue occurs when phone calls are connected to the Philips 9050 hearing aids via Bluetooth, not when the phone is held directly to my ear.

Additional observations include:
  1. When the same Samsung phone is connected to Jabra Enhance Pro 20 hearing aids via Bluetooth, the audio quality during phone calls is acceptable.
  2. The audio quality of the Philips 9050 via Bluetooth for multimedia (YouTube, news apps, music, etc.) is acceptable, except during phone calls.
I am uncertain whether I have a defective 9050 or if the settings are incorrect. I would appreciate it if anyone could share their successful Philips HearSuite settings.

You may need to perform this 3-step test cycle (over and over);
  • Change Phone settings
  • Save Phone settings to hearing settings and database
  • Test with a Phone call
  1. Maybe set the phone level up to +9dB and see how that sounds? Maybe too loud? Try another test cycle with a lower volume.
  2. The Mic/phone level is for hearing people next to you during a phone call. Ignore this setting for now and leave it for last.
  3. Sound perception, Try Fullest, Try brightest, Maybe somewhere in-between? Adjust and test, Adjust and test.
  4. Low frequency enhancement, how much Bass do you like? Adjust and test, Adjust and test.
When/If you like your adjusted phone call settings, it's time to Go get a partner to speak to you during a phone call. Now adjust your Mic volume so that you hear Both the person on the phone AND the person next to you.

Thanks, I will try that.
