My hearing aids are exactly 2 years old. I've sent them back twice for repairs.
I'm beginning to think I made a mistake buying them (I'd rather not mention the brand - they've been pretty nice in repairing them).

My question is: What brand of aids should I get for backup aids for times (usually 3 weeks) like this when I need them the most (close to Christmas, family gatherings, etc.)?

Hi @Ihearya Welcome; Typically, ppl a get new pair hearing aids/HAs and then keep their old HAs as backups.
  • Storing disposable-battery HAs is easy (remove batteries and store the un-powered HAs)
  • Storing rechargeable-battery HAs requires battery-conditioning. Read a DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (Li-ion Rechargeable Battery Storage)
  • Also, and imo> "nice" is when HAs don't require yearly repair.
So are you looking to buy used HAs as backups, or new HAs as backups? Who will program them to fit your hearing loss? Your audiologist? You?

Also; the DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) access portals are at your finger tips via 24/7 cloud storage access.
  • Start here → DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) to find the access portals
  • You can easily find the Access Portals again/anytime, by clicking any PVC Avatar (click twice - counting the 2nd popup Avatar)
  • When logged in, you can find the Access Portals again/anytime, by clicking a Link in my Signature
  • And finally, you can perform a simple Internet search for "DIY School Hearing Aids"
