(Gain Controls Timer=1, 2, or 3); should be set to 3. This is for people who need a period of time for getting used to wearing hearing aids so Gain can be initially set to (1=low-volume for a few weeks), and then it automatically switches to (2=higher-volume), and finally (3=full prescription).

(Gain Handles=3, 16, 24). Set to however you want to view your gain handles.

Selecting certain parts/groups/handles for changing;
Try clicking one of the categories (All, Loud, Moderate, Soft) in this case Moderate. Then you can (click + or -) to adjust your selection. You could even Mouse-Drag your own specific selection of gain controls but that is getting a little advanced. ;)

You can adjust one ear or both ears by clicking this symbol;

Number of Gain Handles - afaik> Unless you plan to mouse-drag a specific group of gain handles, then the number of gain handles is simply a display preference. Manufacturers sometimes show more gain handles based on region (of-the-world) simply because that region has become accustomed to viewing more gain handles. See this → HoH-member menglxs forum post.
