How often do you change the battery in your hearing aid?

What kind of batteries do you use?

    Loops, etc

I've tried the neckloops once. A friend of mine had one and I tried it out. Thought it was nice. My friend uses it for listening to his iPod. He said the nice thing about them was that he could wear them in class and listen to music without anyone noticing it (hearing people wear headphones or...

How often or how many hours do you use your aids?

Yeah. I hate when they do that. I've gotten stuck before with the "no hearing aid" excuse. One time, a woman approached me and started talking to me about her JW church. I shook my head, pointed to my ears, and told her I couldn't hear. She immediately started signing. So, I got stuck watching...

    Tinnitus

Here's the best description I can think of at this moment... It sounds like an extremely rusty door hinge. Ever open the door to hear it squeak? Then close and re-open the door very slowly to hear that weird stuttering squeaking sound? Well, that's what I hear.

    First aids?

I think it was when I became deaf at the age of one. I had hearing aids for both ears until I was in elementary school before I switched to one hearing aid.

What hearing aid batteries do you like/use?

That sounds like a good deal. I'll have to check out my local Costco.

Do you have any level of hearing?

    Okay, I'll Be Second...

I think I started wearing hearing aids when I was 1 year old (when I became deaf). It was the kind that you strap on to your chest and have cords plugged into your hearing aid going to your ear molds. It wasn't until I was 5 or 6 years old when I switched to BTE hearing aids. :)

    Okay, I'll Be Second...

Hello... I'm VamPyroX. I'm in my 30's, married, no kids (yet), and no pets (yet). I was born hearing and became deaf a year later due to neglect. I had ear problems and was on medication. I wasn't given the medication properly and my ears got worse to a point where they just failed...

    Hearing Aids in Movies?

In She's All That and Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, did the kids with hearing aids sign? I've seen She's All That, but that was years ago and I can't remember if there was any signing in that movie.

What hearing aid batteries do you like/use?

That could be normal for size 13. What color are the battery stickers? I know there are orange, brown, and blue. 675 is blue. I think orange is 13. Perhaps, it's normal for size 13 to have a short life... and also explain why they're cheaper?

Who else doesn't like digital hearing aids?

No, that's the crowd mode. Here's a description of each... Normal Mode - Basically, it's standard with anti-feedback. If there are weird sounds in the background, it will attempt to drown it out. Whistling, beeping, blowing, static, or most non-talking sounds... these are toned down or sound...

    Hearing Aids in Movies?

When they put in a blind character in a story, they usually involve something about that blind person's past or do something related to that blindness. Why not do the same with hearing aids? It could be sign language, or it could be a deaf related incident, etc. For instance, Freddy's Dead...

How often or how many hours do you use your aids?

You shouldn't get nervous. I don't. If you're expecting someone, they will likely have told you in advance when they were coming and you could leave your hearing aids in to hear for the door. Other than that, what's to expect? :) If I don't wear my hearing aids, I won't hear the door. Well...
